Hello there,

I read in a book that it is more advantageous to store RMAN backup in a catalog database than in the DB controlfile.

And that I should create a recovery catalog databse that is about 115mb including datafiles and redolog which Oracle recommends.

My question is how will i create the recovery catalog database with this size (115mb)... can anyone help ... preferably with the creation scripts.

Hiii

I want to do backup using rman
i created one database on my PC name muj

Created one tablespace
creates user rman
grant him reocvery_catalog_owner

but when iam connecting

connect rman/rman@muj

iam getting errror ORA 12154
TNS could not resolve connect identifier

PLZ help me to solve the prob

Search before posting, error 12154 is very often posted the answer is the same for you than other posters.
