Dear all,

How to config RETENTION POLICY for oracle8i(CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO RECOVERY WINDOW OF 7 DAYS;), same 9i ?

There was no retention policy in 8i.
It was a 9i new feature (iirc).

configure in rman

CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO RECOVERY WINDOW OF 3 DAYS;


Later use delete obsolete

If the OP is on UNIX, they can consider using the script rman1.sh in $O_H/rdbms/demo to manage obsolete backups.
