Hello, I try to connect to rman but fail. The following is what I did. Can anyone give me a clues as why this happen? Thanks.
C:\>rman TARGET / CATALOG rman/rman@catdb

Hi,
you database is not in archive log mode.
try to turn on ARCHIVE LOG MODE.
c:\>sqlplus "sys as sysdba"
password :
sql>shutdown immediate;
sql>startup mount;
sql>alter database archivelog;
sql>alter database open;
and also check archive log destination is not OUT OF SPACE
c:\>rman target=sys@tns_entry
RMAN>backup archivelog delete all input;
or
increase db_recovery_file_dest_size
