Hi,

we have use rman in oracle 10g, How to config. Tape backup. ?

and how to take backup. I have completed, this steps only.




RMAN target / catalog rman/rman@adap

RMAN> CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP ON;

new RMAN configuration parameters:
CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP ON;
new RMAN configuration parameters are successfully stored
starting full resync of recovery catalog
full resync complete

RMAN> SHOW ALL;

RMAN configuration parameters are:

RMAN cannot directly write to tape (except with legato driver that comes with media). You need an oracle agent like one supplied from veritas.
Did you install the agent?
Else talk to your SysAdmin.
