hello

suppose that i lost the data files and control files of a database running in archive log mode, i have all the archive log files and the online redo log files,
if i restore the datafiles and control file from an old backup but after the database archive log generation date, i would be able to recover the database to the point of failure ?

hi

Yes, You can

but you have to restore most recent backup of you database and all archive log is exists.
