Hello all,

We need to create a new database in Oracle 10g R2 in Sun solaris 5.8.

Our approximate size of the database is 30Gb.

Can you please advice how to set initializtion parameters in the init.ora. For example, how to set db_block size, cache size and all the other parameters while creating the db.

Is it advisable to use the default parameter settings come up while installing oracle 10g.

Please advice?

Thanks and Regards,
Prashanth

You have not provided the useful information to start with.
How is the database about to be used?
Is it an OLTP/DSS/DataMart/OLAP/XMLDB...?
If you are not sure about these, start with default ( and low settings and adjust later).
