Out of these which statement is true
1.CONTROL_FILE_RECORD_KEEP_TIME determines retention time for RMAN records
2.The RMAN catalog can exist solely in the control file of the target database

1. True - but, only if you use the control file as repository.
2. Always true. However, it is better to use a database that is separate from the target database.
