if instance crashes at a particular point in time, from where does the recovery begin. ?

or how much is exactly recovered ??

suppose user is updating a table x with 1 record.
and there is a problem where the instance just crashes.

i haven issued a commit yet.

so will that particular record be recovered ??

If the true cause of the crash is due to simply the instance failure, then Oracle will automatically recover the changes associated with the transaction. When the instance is restarted, it will roll forward any data that was committed but hasn't been recorded in the datafiles and will then rollback any transactions that were still active at the time of failure.
