Hi All,

Thanks in advance for any posts and for reading.

I am trying to register a 9i database onto a catalog (another 9i database) all on the same box (same oracle home). Anyhow when I try to register the database (after connect target / and catalog) I am dumped out of rman with a memory fault. I carn't find any core dumps mentioned in the alert logs or trace files either.

I have put this up on a few forums, because I carn't find anything on metalink and no one on the metalink forum has even attempted an answer.

Anyhow let me know what you reckon,

Thanks,

b14... aka... marky mark...

i don't know for sure..but are u sure that the hardware and software requirements are met with..unless there is a specific oracle error number, this may be an OS or hardware issue , rather than the issue of oracle itself.

one alternative to test is: to try to create rman database on another computer, and then try to register this db to the new rman location..just for testing to see whether you get the same error there..

also in case u have oracle support you can open a Service Request with them.
