Hi all,

Thanks in advance for any posts and for reading...

We are in the process of migrating the RAC with some of our production instances. As per anyone else who has made the move some things run really fast using this type of archetecture. Anyhow the backups that we run are actully going really really slowly, and I am not sure why. The backups are taking about twice as long to do as they do for the old production box! I even tried changing the network that it runs across (currenty on a standard full duplex 100 mb line) a gig link full duplex private network but this made no difference.

***setup*****

***RAC***

We are using a 4 node RAC running on Redhat enterprise 3, OCFS file system and Oracle 9i.

***backup***

We have a solaris 8 box with 2 tape drives running netbackup 5.1

Anyone got any ideas? I have been round quite a lot of forums with this no answers thus far...

thanks again for reading and any posts,

B14... aka... marky mark...

****if it ain't broke don't fix it!**********

More information may be useful.
What kind of backup are you talking here? RMAN?
