If I perform an export from an existing database does that include all necessary Oracle information etc, or just the data from the existing database.

I'm hoping to exp data from my existing database and import to another server without going through the necessity of installing Oracle table spaces.
(We have an off site application developer who has all the installation scripts. Not only off site, out of country!)

Thanks for any and all help

Please spare some time to read the manuals regarding Exp/Imp. There are four modes of export/import and few contains the tablespaces but few does not.

Only suggestion is to read the manuals so that you get a clear picture.

I think you'd better use cold backup or hot backup if both environments are the same.
