TSM with RMAN space issue [message #168501]

Hello everyone... first let me start by saying I am out of ideas. I'm running an oracle 8.1.7DB being backed up with Tivoli. In that past 6 months our tape backups have increased from 1-2 TB to 4-5 TB. We know for a fact it's not database growth.

I've worked very hard on this and the only thing I can think of is somehow incarnations are not properly deleting or expired data is not being deleted correctly either.

I've done the crosschecks, delete expired, double check backupset with Tivoli's list in RMAN.

Performed the TPOsync as well.

Any ideas?

PS/ Had problems with 8.0.5 when deleted BLOBs did not released allocated space. But looks like that bug has been fixed in 8i.

Well we are on 8i version 8.1.7

It's not an oracle issue. Or a "actually data growth issue"
Our DB grows 25MB per day

We've removed some incarnations from Rman, RMAN is reporting them as deleted, Tivioli is reporting them as gone, but the space is still not freed up on our backup tapes.
