HI,
I'm working with RMAN by having controlfile as Recovery catalog,but i want to work with RMAN by cerating a recovery catalog separately,can any one explain me how to do this.
Is it similar like creating a normal database & then creating a user with appropriate privileges to work with RMAN or can i make use of existing database for this purpose.
If i've to create a separate database for this purpose,
1) Do i've to create instance for this catalog database & open the database?
2) If it's so,what are the initialization parameters,i've to set?
can anyone explain it more briefly..
