For whole system backup (Whole system not only full system) from Operating System some .ora files (i.e. password.ora, init.ora etc) are also must required to backup along with datafiles, control files and log files.
I am not sure which one to backup and which one not to. So I backup all *.ora files in Oracle home. Plus Oracle only ask for password file if whole backup restore at other system.
So I have two questions.

Which exactly are the .ora files must required to backup in whole backup.

How to find out there location. (Any fix location(s). or sql statements to find there location “this is must required for non windows system as search is not simple in non window systems)

Cool. Good catch.
I do understant the tags. I was left in a little confusion because you have not provided the magic works. 'RMAN' or 'HOTBACKUP'.
I thought you were talking about a cold backup.
