Hi,

I need to create a database say PSD3 from an existing database PSD4 which is in non archive log mode.
I am planning to follow these process:

1. backup control file to trace and change the name of the database and location of the these files
2. shutdown normal of PSD4
3. Copy all data files, redo log files as per the control file to new location (for PSD3)
4. create initora file
5. If i then use the control file will it work or is there something I should bear in mind in doing so or any process/problesm that may arise.

Any help will be really appreciated.
