Hi everyone GoodMorning,

I have one doubt. After taking a consistent COLD BKP we generally clean up the Archived Files generated. But my doubt is that if our database is a 24*7 running database and i never shutdown the database then is that required maintain all the Archived files generated from the start of database.Do i? because my doubt is that if the Archives are going to be generated like that then it results in killing the disk space.Yes/No. So can any one give some Comments on this.

Thank Q in advance.

One way is to keep all the archive log files of tapes ( if you can afford).

But, all the archive logs generated before taking a hot backup are not required, if you are recovering the database from that hot backup. Only archive logs generated after a hot backup are required for recovery.

Thumbs Up
