Hello,

I do not have physical backup of tempfile. And if I need to restore old backup then will it work?
or do I need to drop and recreate tempfile again?

You don't need to backup your tempfiles - you can create new tempfiles after restoring/recovering the DB.

Best is to do a test restore/recovery to ensure you understand the process. Don't wait for a disaster to strike!

Thanks for replying.
Actually I read that all *.dbf are required to be there. so I thought if tempfile is not there, there must be some error while opening the database.
Is there any error?

No error will pop-up if you don't have tempfiles. If you run a sql with an order by clause or group by clause which need use temp tablespace, you will get a error immediately.

In my opinion, you'd better backup the tempfiles if it is not a burden for you.
