hi

I'm not sure about restoring database, and need your guys help. Embarassed

here's the scenerio... i wanted to uninstall Oracle from my machine and reinstall again. Before uninstalling i would like to backup my database first. So, i backup the database with RMAN.

After the backup process is done, follow by uninstalling and reinstall Oracle. what should i do to ensure i can restore my database back? Pls correct me if i'm wrong...

1. create a same database name as the backup copy
2. create a same set of datafiles, control files, redo log

where else do i need to do?

can anyone give me some advices

TQ

p/s: the reason to do so is because i can't hav my OEM console start due to the changes of my machine IP Address. I can't revert my original machine IP coz' tat is changed by the company administrator Sad
