I have connected database by user SYS,then I run command following.
SQL> connect sys/change_on_install as sysdba
ERROR:
ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
Warning: You are no longer connected to ORACLE.

Can anybody tell me where is error??????

Are you using Windows???

Is your Oracleservice Up and running??

Start the service and try again.

you can search the forum for the same error. Its been answered so many times.

I am using Window 2000;
I must start what services?;

just I have two database name is TEST1, TEST2 and I connect sys/*** as sysdba with TEST1 correct. But when I drop database TEST1 then I connect sys/*** as sysdba with TEST2. I get a error

please tell me why?

Set the environment variable to TEST2 and then try to login


 c:\> set ORACLE_SID=TEST2
 


and even if not successful then first search the forum for the same error , its been discussed so many times.

And even then if it is not solved then post back your problem again.
