Hi,

After taking full database backup using rman, how to check its proper backup or not? Is there any way to find rman utility has taken backup of the database properly?

Thanks,
Praveen

You can validate it.
http://oraclesvca2.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96566/rcmquick.htm#441284

But, in reality, the only way to test the backup is to restore it.
For that very same reason, we always test our backup, randomly by duplicating/restoring to a remote machine.

hi,

As per the oracle documentation we can check the validity of backup data file by using dbverify utility.

D:\oracle\ora92\bin>dbv FILE=D:\oracle\oradata\hclsunil\backup.dbf blocksize=8192 feedback=100
