Hello ,

I want to use rman backup from oracle 9.2.0.1.0 on the tape device. my tape device is hp and as a software manager , I use Veritas Backup Exec Ver:8.6 I receive following error :

RMAN-03009: failure of allocate command on c1 channel
ORA-19554: error allocating device, device type: SBT_TAPE, device
name:
ORA-27211: Failed to load Media Management Library

I couldn't find any orasbt.dll in my server . Does Veritas Backup Exec Ver 8.6 create any MML after installing software in oracle 9.2.0.1.0.

Regards ,
Mike

Please post your RMAN configurations.
Issue this and try again.

RMAN> CONFIGURE CHANNEL DEVICE TYPE 'SBT_TAPE' clear;

and are you sure you have MML API options installed?
