Hi,

  I'm running Oracle 9.2.0.4.0 on Solars 5.8.  Recently I configured backup on OEM (running on OMS) USING RMAN (Recovery catalog database).   The job is created using OEM by 1. Create backup configuration 2. Create Backup.   When the job runs, it creates the following output.  It looks like the backup is partially done and there are warnings about 1_188.arc archive file missing.    And another warning about "objects cannot be deleted due to mismatched status". And to use CROSSCHECK.

 I don't care about old archive logs.  I just want a new backup from now on and use new archive logs.  How can I fix this ??? I have multiplexed the logs.  HELP PLEASE!!!.  All I wanted to do is make this job work, without having to worry about the old 1_188.arc log.

Here's the output from the job:

You should use a dedicated server connection ( and not a shared server/dispatcher) when executing backup/restore commands.

IF you are on the same server as the target database,you could simply connect through ipc as
export ORACLE_SID=acdrep
rman target sys/xxx catalog rman/xxx@rcat1

IF you are on a remote node,then connect through tns connect string thats configured to use dedicated server(not SERVER=SHARED)

Hi,

I have similar kind of problem where rman is asking for old archivelog. I am not using any catalog instead using nocatalog

rman taret /

sql statement: ALTER SYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG CURRENT

RMAN> backup archivelog all;

Starting backup at 25-JUN-06
current log archived
